Miroslav Kovacevic, MD FAAP
Miroslav Kovacevic, MD FAAP, a Board certified Pediatrician has been in private practice in Chicago's western suburbs since 1976.
Dr. Kovacevic completed his residency in Pediatrics and his Fellowship in Neonatology at Loyola University Medical Center (McGaw Hospital) in Maywood, IL and was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1982.
Doctor Kovacevic has lectured extensively at home and abroad and has published several scientific articles, most notably in the prestigious New England of Medicine and The Journal of Pediatrics. For his volutuntary work with children victims of war, he was chosen for a Person of the Week by ABC's Nightly News with Peter Jennings in 1992 and was a focus of ABC's documentary Turning Point with Barbara Walters in 1994.
Doctor's particular areas of expertise include so-called "problem infants" (follow-up and care of prematurely born infants), infant feeding and sleeping difficulties ("ferberizing"), pediatric eating disorders and obesity, behavioral and school problems in children, enuresis and encopresis. In addition, Dr. Kovacevic has been following (and implementing, if indicated and under strict guidelines) various alternative medical methods (vitamins, supplements, etc.). For the past 4 years he has concentrated his professional attention on some of the more controversial problems in Pediatrics, like Autism and Autistic Spectrum Disorders, PANDAS and PITAND syndromes and use of IVIG -intravenous immunoglobulin therapy in certain pediatric neuropsychiatric disorders. With over 30 years of professional experience in children's health care and after more than 100,000 patient visits, Doctor Kovacevic is also offering pediatric consultations and second opinion services in his offices in Hinsdale and Lisle, IL.
